Greenworks electric pole/chain saw model 20062, December 31, 2010

I got this to trim tree branches, hardwoods, Mesquite, Acacia etc.. The saw goes through these woods like its cutting butter.
This saw worked right out of the box, I only had to add chain oil(bought locally, not included).
Adding and removing the pole is a snap.

I wish the included scabbard was a brighter color, not black, and had a way to attach it to the saw.

So far I think its a good saw for the money.

Edited 1/6/11

I have to put the original review on hold. Today the saw quit running. I was using it off the pole. I checked and cleaned up everything still no go. After checking everything and blowing it out with air I tried again, all I got was a spark from the housing.

Edited 1/19/11

We contacted the company about the saw, We were told they would call back and give us a service center in our area. They did not call. I sent the saw back to Amazon. The reduction in stars is because of CS.

Better than expected!, April 14, 2011

I was definitely skeptical of an electric chainsaw. We have oak trees in our backyard that I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to get them cut. It is a little heavy when on the pole, so definitely a stronger person needs to do the higher limbs, but it works great! It gets pretty big limbs very easily! Get the oil right away, you will always need to have the oil in the chainsaw, but its like $2 at Home Depot. We have only used it twice so I can't say anything about long-term value, but yep, I love it!

good saw, March 10, 2011

received on the estimated delivery date. Easy to install, needs to buy chain oil and add. the oil receiver holds very little oil, I have to wait for a few minutes until the oil gets down the sponge and then add more. 8' pole is a little short, I may go for the Remington next time. Cuts trees and branches easily up to 3''. I did use it on bigger trees but the chain gets stuck sometimes and the progress is not as efficient. Anyway, 10'' saw is much better than the 8'' saw, and the ability of using without the pole is a plus.

Sweet Saw, June 9, 2011
By

This review is from: Greenworks 20062 10-Inch 7 Amp Electric 2-in-1 Tree Pruner/Chain Saw with 8-Foot Pole Extension (Lawn & Patio)
What a sweet little saw. I'm extremely happy with it. I have used mid size gas powered chain saws (30") and was a little concerned about whether it would have enough power. It does and it cuts through tree limbs quickly with little effort - it cut through 6-8" limbs with no problem and would be able to cut 10" limbs (maybe a little larger).

Of course it's heavy on the end of a 8' pole, but I doubt that there are any chain saws with enough power to get the job done that would be much lighter, if any lighter at all. It attaches to the pole easily and removes easily.

I selected this saw over the other available small pole chain saws because it had automatic chain oiling. Having used larger saws with manual oiling, I knew that automatic oiling would be much better. It uses more oil than what I would use with manual oiling - probably a good thing.

The manual chain tensioning works fine. Fairly good description of what to look for to make sure the chain is tensioned properly. I don't know if automatic tensioning would be that much better. I had to adjust the tension a couple of times during about a six hour period of pruning.

I managed to cut the power cord while cutting up some limbs on the ground; so, be careful. Nothing exciting, it was on a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) which had to be reset.

I recommend this product highly.

5 Star Chain Saw - Zero Star Pole Saw, October 31, 2010
By
George Gripey
This review is from: Greenworks 20062 10-Inch 7 Amp Electric 2-in-1 Tree Pruner/Chain Saw with 8-Foot Pole Extension (Lawn & Patio)
I wish I could have given it 5 stars. After using several other brands of electric chain saws, this chain saw is superior. I am convinced it would cut through just about any size tree and it is built to last. Unfortunately, I bought it to use as a pole saw. While the pole powered up fine, something inside the chain saw was not hooked up properly so it would not function as a pole saw only in chain saw mode. Amazon was wonderful about the return as always, but I hated to see it go back since I had to find another pole saw/chain saw combo that worked.

This unit worked great right out of the box...
havent tried it on the pole yet, seems like it
might be a bit heavy but the pole seems strong enough.
have plenty of bar oil and know it is a bit slow
to fill the chamber but the auto oiler worked great
and very easy to adjust tension on the chain

Good product, June 10, 2011

After buying this product, I took it to my lake home and used it extensively. It worked wonders on the branches I couldn't reach with a regular saw. It was smooth running and cut thru up to 6" branches. After dropping the branches, it was so easy to convert it to a regular chain saw to buzz up the pieces into littler ones for disposal. Very satisfied.

I love this little chainsaw. its fast and lite. the way it comes on and off the pole its like 2 tools in 1. I use it mostly off the pole but when I need to the extension is wonderful. no more climbing up the latter with a dangerous tool in my hands. as long as oil is kept in the bar and it stays plugged in. this little thing works all day long, I have run it for over 6 hours, with few brakes getting my yard ready for winter.

The price is the best, I could find, for this combination chain saw. Light wieght of about 11 pounds. It works the best for hedgerow trimming and tree cut up to 4". The only problem found is the pin and washer jumped off it position after three weeks useage - replacement parts came in through warrenty service. THE END jpc of Annandale VA

This product made me a fan of the brand, February 19, 2012

This review is from: Greenworks 20062 10-Inch 7 Amp Electric 2-in-1 Tree Pruner/Chain Saw with 8-Foot Pole Extension (Lawn & Patio)
I got this pruner to get rid of a few branches. I've a couple of trees in my property and I expect to have to use this perhaps once or twice in a year. However, I was looking for a pruner that could also double as an utility chainsaw. This is definitely it. The small size and light weight makes it very convenient to first trim the trees and then, cut the branches once in the floor to ease disposal.

The construction and quality seems top notch. something I would have expected from a well established brand. For me, this is a brand I haven't heard of before, but as I titled my review, I'm now a fan.

The extension pole can be adjusted and is very sturdy. It's made of strong plastics and fiberglass. You can easily control the pruner even while completely extended.

Note that the pruner does not come with oil. You'll want to order a small bottle of oil so that you can use your new pruner the moment it arrives. Also note that just like all the chainsaws I've seen, this will drip oil when hung. Even after draining all the oil of the reservoir before storing, it will drip. This is easily remedied by sticking a paper cup at the end of the (included) plastic blade protector.

The attachment between the pole and the pruner is very robust. It has a set of inserts that make it impossible to accidentally remove the pruner. I don't see how it would be possible for the pruner to "fall off" when properly installed. This is a 30 second or less operation, by the way.

Setup was a snap. It took me longer to walk from my garage to the tree than setting up the extension and pruner to make the cut.

For the kind of light duty work that I anticipate, I recommend this chain saw without reservation. It looks so well built that probably it could also handle more demanding applications.
